CDI engineers supported Asian team at International Cybersecurity Challenge 2026

June 9, 2026 Event
Engineers from Cyber Defense Institute supported the Asian Team for the International Cybersecurity Challenge 2026 (ICC 2026) as part of the activities of the Security Camp Council's International Collaboration Working Group.

The International Cybersecurity Challenge (ICC) is an international project aimed not only at competition, but also at developing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, fostering international technical exchange, enhancing practical skills, and building a global community of young talent.

At the heart of this project is a worldwide CTF competition open to participants aged 26 and under. Previous editions have been held in Greece (inaugural edition, hosted by ENISA), San Diego, USA (2nd edition, hosted by Katzy), and Chile (3rd edition), while the 4th edition was hosted in Japan by the National center of Incident readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity (NISC).

The 5th edition, ICC 2026, was held from May 18-21, 2026, in Gold Coast, Australia, hosted by the University of Queensland and co-located with the AusCERT Conference. The competition brought together top young players from seven regional teams (representing over 60 countries) across Asia, Europe, the United States, Canada, Latin America & the Caribbean, Africa, and Oceania.

For this edition, Cyber Defense Institute's Lauri Korts-Pärn served as Director and Maeda Yuto as Coach for Team Asia -- composed of players from Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Malaysia -- supporting the team's participation as part of the Security Camp Council's International Collaboration Working Group.
