Forensics Seminar: Preservation of Evidence, Basics [ hands-on ]

This is a two-day training course designed to train forensic analysts with the ability to respond to security incidents and cyber crime. In this course, you learn knowledge and skills necessary for conducting evidence preservation, a crucial process in forensic investigation. This is also a practical training course that uses an actual server.

Forensics Seminar: Windows File System [ hands-on ]

This two-day training course is designed for information security professionals and analysts who handle computer security incidents. Students can obtain knowledge required to analyze results obtained by screening software for file systems, and toperform binary-level disk analysis.

Forensics Seminar: Windows Artifact Analysis[ hands-on ]

This two-day course is designed to train forensic analysts who can respond with security incidents and cyber crimes. For a target PC installed with an Windows OS, this course covers analysis methods of various important files and other factors.

※ Prior to proceeding with this course, we recommend completion of the "File Systems" course to support thorough understanding.

Forensics Seminar: SmartPhone Analysis: Oxygen Forensic, iOS, and Android [ hands-on ]

This course is designed to train forensic analysts who can respond with security incidents and cyber crimes. This course offers knowledges when a terminal installed with a smart-device OS, such as iOS or Android, is your analysis target.

About the lecturers

Ichiro Sugiyama

In charge of analysis seminars of filesystems, Windows artifacts, and smartphones.
The Cyber Defense Institute Forensics Evangelist

After building a forensics business at a data recovery company, he served as a company manager of a major corporation specialized in forensics. In 2010, he joined the Cyber Defense Institute, Inc. Has conducted forensic analyses of many information leaks and intra-corporate fraudulences. Recently, he has worked on data recoveries of servers and equipment damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. His forensics experiences are expanded to various realms, including translation of X-Ways Forensics/WinHEX, lecturing and developing of forensics trainings for law enforcement agencies, and participation to the evidence securing guidelines issued by IDF. He also holds certificates such as EnCase Certified Examiner and GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst that are considered rare in this country. Currently he is devoted into analyzing smartphones such as iPhone and Android, using Oxygen's External.

From a data recovery company, he joined Cyber Defense in 2011 by way of the nation's major forensics service providing company. He has conducted forensic surveys of more than 70 incidents of information leakages and intra-corporate fraudulences. He has been active as a developer and a lecturer of forensic trainings designed for nongovernmental enterprises as well as for law enforcement institutions. As an AccessData Certified Examiner, he holds other certificates as well. He currently devotes his weekends into surfing and skateboarding.
